The PSSCA School Counseling Emerging Leaders (SCEL) program is for individuals who have a burning desire to make an impact in the School Counseling profession above and beyond their own community. The individuals chosen to participate in the program are innovators, advocates, and visionaries who others turn to for leadership and decision-making. The PSSCA School Counseling Emerging Leaders (SCEL) program is for individuals who have a burning desire to make an impact in the School Counseling profession above and beyond their own community. The individuals chosen to participate in the program are innovators, advocates, and visionaries who others turn to for leadership and decision-making. More details are available on the Emerging Leaders Policy Guidelines document. Applications for the PSSCA SCEL program open each year in March and selections are made by May. To apply, you need to login to the PSSCA website and click on the "members only" section for Emerging Leaders. Please be aware of the following criteria for applicants:
· For Graduate Students enrolled in a SC approved School Counseling Credential program OR
· Practicing School Counselors, who at time of application have been practicing in the field of school counseling for 3 years or less at any public /private Pre-K-12 school, adult school, or community college in South Carolina.
· Maintain an active PSSCA membership for a minimum of three months prior to submission of application.
The application for the Emerging Leaders Program will open on March 15, 2024 and close on April 15, 2024. To apply, you must be a PSSCA member and login to the "Members Only" section of the website and then click on "Emerging Leaders Program" to access the application.
